2015 has been a year of change! We moved into a new work space in Tufnell Park. This building is Tufnell Park’s best kept secret – hiding behind the black gate at 2 Dartmouth Park Hill.

It was originally an old stables building, and is now a furniture work shop and design studio combined.

On the furniture making side is Walter Castellazzo, of WCD Furniture (www.wcdfurniture.com), who makes all kinds of wonderful creations, and is a professional upcycler too of all things antique. retro, vintage and more.

When I first moved to London, over 13 years ago, my first job was working alongside Walter in his then Camden workshop, drawing up furniture concepts for his client presentations, so it’s like my life in London has come full circle and I’m back again, but this time under a different guise now that I run my own design business.

Also, while at university I specialised in Furniture Design, spending a lot of time prototyping my ideas in the workshop. So having a workspace in a furniture workshop is like a dream come true!

It was a little bit of a journey to transform the space – a classic example of needing to ‘see beyond’ what was first on offer and release the potential of the room! Here’s some photos of before and after (and the inbetween). A fun interior design project – which was all implemented by Walter, including the bespoke shelving and work surface.
